About the Community Managers Group
The Community Managers Group is a private association comprised of professionals in the gaming industry that manage their respective communities. The CMG was originally created in March 2006. It was composed to assist community managers within the massively multiplayer online gaming industry due to the fact that the online gaming field, much less the management of communities within that field, is still in a fledgling state and it is continually evolving and maturing.

Since its inception, the CMG has expanded its scope to include professional community managers throughout the entire gaming industry. Currently, the CMG's membership has grown to encompass more than one hundred members.
